High Density Polyethylene Fabric

     Southern Hemisphere Shades premium shade structures, umbrellas, and sails consist of the durable fabric HDPE, high density polyethylene. HDPE is ideal for creating shade and protection because of its porous foundation. This foundation utilizes the laws of nature to reduce temperatures through tiny pockets. As hot air rises it escapes through tiny holes sewn into the fabric. This reduces the temperature of the protected region while providing efficient shade.

     HDPE is far more effective in reducing temperatures than solid non-porous material. Studies reveal that HDPE can reduce the protected area's temperature up to 25 degrees.
